Robin Day Project

Brief

The brief of Robin Day Project was exploring new products and furniture forms through an understanding of user need, materials and developing technologies. Therefore, I started thinking about what kind of things users need. Then, I started to research about people's lifestyle.

Research

After researching, I tried to focus on how to solve people's problem. Because I thought that solving people's problem can be a thing what people need or want. Then, it was found stress is one of the biggest problems among the people. After that, I chose the most stressful place is an office, such as a busy, stuffy and grey place.

One of the factors that give stress to people is a sleep issue so I decided to make people have a rest with the natural atmosphere and release their stress. Thus, I started to design something people can relax naturally.

After the review, I realised that I had had an unclear direction in my design. When I was thinking about my design, I thought my design was more like a public seating design rather than office furniture. Thus, I changed my direction to solve every people's problem with designing public seating.
